Spiritual Growth Challenge

Women’s Bible Study since the beginning of the year has been focusing on Healing as an act of Faith. Last Tuesday we talked faith, works, and belief.

I want to share a devotional that a friend shared with me. Author is unknown:

You have FAITH but do you have ACTION?

  • Get rid of it.

I grew up in a home where my mom is ex-Navy. Saturdays were reserved for deep cleaning the house and my mama would come up behind my siblings and I with the white glove test to make sure there was no dirt, lint, or dust on the baseboards or furniture. My 👏🏽 mama 👏🏽 DID 👏🏽 NOT 👏🏽 play.

I hated it when I was little but grown to appreciate it as I got older. Especially when visiting people’s houses, the visits were short if they house wasn’t clean.

  • Return to Me: Newness

Newness is introduced by change or regeneration. To create again.

God, create in us a clean heart and reNEW a right spirit within us. - Psalm 51:10

    Return to Me: RECEIVE

The word “receive” has been resonating in my spirit since last week. We want God to receive our hearts, our worship, our praise, our sacrifices. But what we are offering, is it what He’s asked for? Are we giving our Father what he desires? I challenge you to take time today to seek Him on what He is requiring of you. Return to Him.

Make it plain: God is looking for our obedience as living sacrifices unto Him.

    Return to Me: URGENT

Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my URGENT cry. I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me. - Psalm 86:6-7

This was David’s prayer to God. He came to the Father with humility because of a great need and had confidence that the Lord will answer.
